YouTube starts testing timed emoji reactions

Updated: Mar 31

A new feature has been introduced to YouTube now! Known as “timed reactions”, YouTube claims this one to be a “new way to engage with videos”. With this feature, users can now react with emojis at a specific time stamp in a video. This feature is similar to that on Facebook.

Back in April last year, YouTube had run tests for this feature by releasing a beta version of this of select users. Likewise, YouTube will initially put this feature out for a few channels only.

As quoted by Meaghan from the YouTube team, “We know community is important to you, so we’re committed to bringing you more features that strengthen the sense of community on YouTube”.

Reactions of other users can also be viewed via the reaction panel in the comment section.
