More than 10 million PS5 consoles were sold. That’s up more than 2 million sales from the 7.8 million Sony had recently revealed in April, and it means the PS5 proceeds to surmount sales of the PS4, giving it the title of the fastest-selling console in the entire history of Sony.
The PS5 hit the bullseye on July 18, roughly 250 days after its launch.
Undeterred by greater demand and supply constraints than of its antecedents, PS5 could hit this milestone. “Pushing through supply challenges and a global pandemic, we’re proud to have delivered a transformational gaming experience that is captivating players around the world,” said Veronica Rogers, SIE’s worldwide chief of business operations.
Ultimately, this seems to be the perfect first step for PS5 which, in turn, holds promise for the next VR headset. The more consoles out there, the more potential customers for the new device.
