A new mod has been developed for the popular survival horror game, Dead Space. The mod, created by ReverseEngineeringGamer, adds a first-person perspective to the 2008 original game.

While the first-person view adds an extra level of tension to the game, it comes at a cost of important visual information such as the protagonist's health gauge, which is located on their spine. Players will also have to be more aware of their surroundings, as they won't have the advantage of peripheral vision.

The release of the Dead Space remake has reignited interest in the franchise, and ReverseEngineeringGamer has already suggested that a similar mod could be created for the upcoming remake. However, it's not clear if or when this might happen.

Fans of Dead Space loved the remake of the original Dead Space. While a first-person mod for the remake is not yet confirmed, the success of this mod for the original game shows that it's certainly a possibility in the future.
